There has been a period of considerable change for the Haberdasher's Catering Team in the past six months. Whilst most of the activity has been back of house to do with budgets, procurement and other such "boring” stuff, we have also been busy changing the menus, trying out and introducing new ideas and dishes to make the food choices more interesting and healthy.You may have seen that we have put such Caribbean delicacies as Curry Goat , Jerk Chicken and Jerk Pork baps, Fish n' Coconut rundown curries, Hot Patties and even some Ital veggie dishes on the menus of late. We also listened to feedback and put on some requests such as kebabs and pitta breads, Roast Pork and Lamb with all the trimmings, Chicken Stir Fry noodles, as well the old favourites such as Bangers n ' Mash, Cottage Pie , Chicken and Rice etc.What else are we doing? Well, we are looking to introduce new ranges of salads, sandwiches with more interesting breads and fillings similar to high street brands. There will also be new dishes to try on the specials lunch menu, and also healthy snacks such Trinidadian "doubles" or "shark bake" during morning break.We would love to hear your opinions, ideas and suggestions. No, we can't have a McDonalds or Kentucky Fried Chicken installed! - but we do want to know what foods you want to eat. Please do let your teachers or Head of Year know and they can pass it on to us. Alternatively, speak to your Chef Manager at your school. Don't be afraid! They don't bite....hard!
